It's a larger format than most of my other drawings, more akin to earlier paintings, and the surface is a solid panel w/ gesso that has been polished very smooth.The active drawing process w/ soft graphite is similar, but instead of the heavy use of erasers that I employed in the paper pieces, I'm using turpentine soaked rags to blend, spread and remove graphite in certain areas.It's an invigorating change that is suggesting new directions...which I really like.Walt Pascoehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07965673151127618945noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7001842297433842605.post-46645315939436844022009-12-18T09:29:14.320-05:002009-12-18T09:29:14.320-05:00Wow! That's stunning, Walt. It reminds me of a classical stylisation of the sea, with all the charm which that implies, but those depictions also strike me as a bit flat.
